MARLEY ALUTEC CONTINUES ITS DEVELOPMENT WITH TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS
Marley Alutec has further developed its team with the appointment of two new employees based at its Bedford headquarters. Offering a wealth of industry experience, the company is delighted to welcome Phil Whomes and Tom Elwell to commercial manager and estimator roles, respectively.
Phil and Tom join the UK’s leading aluminium guttering, rainwater drainage and eaves solutions company, Marley Alutec, which has witnessed continued growth during 2017.
As part of its increased focus on growth, Phil Whomes has been appointed as commercial manager at Marley Alutec. Phil brings more than 25 years’ sales and marketing experience to the new role and will oversee the company’s internal sales, marketing and estimating departments.
Commenting on his new role, Phil said: “Joining Marley Alutec as a commercial manager is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading organisation at a key stage in its development. I’m looking forward to applying my experience to the role to help improve our service to specifiers, contractors and merchants.”
As the most recent addition to the Marley Alutec estimating department, Tom Elwell brings 10 years of experience as technical advisor at Celotex Insulation. In this role he gained an in-depth understanding of building types and methods, as well as specification calculations.
In his new role, Tom is now responsible for producing pricing estimates on incoming customer enquiries, assessing architectural drawings to define the products required and performing rainwater drainage calculations to understand the suitability of gutters and pipes.
Speaking about his recent appointment, Tom commented: “What attracted me to Marley Alutec was the opportunity to work within the construction products industry in a technical role. After meeting the company’s technical manager, Brian Bell, and visiting the headquarters, I knew Marley Alutec would be a great place to work.
“What’s great about my role is I can use my technical knowledge to provide the best customer service. While there is a lot to learn, including a new product portfolio, I’m excited by the challenge.”
