Aluminium Guttering by Marley Alutec

Aluminium is an ideal material for external applications such as guttering due to its strength, resistance to corrosion, durability, and sustainability. Durable, long lasting materials such as aluminium offer lower lifetime costs as the need for repair and replacement is less. These low maintenance requirements are important when it comes to guttering because access can often be difficult and costly, especially above two storeys. The most durable aluminium guttering systems will offer practically no maintenance for their life expectancy of 50 years or more, with minimal maintenance.

At Marley Alutec we use extruded & cast marine grade aluminium, which are both a more cost effective solution than iron or steel. They are also lighter, stronger and more resistant.

Advantages of aluminium guttering

Lightweight, strong and long-lasting

Aluminium is a very light metal, about 65% lighter than steel or cast iron. It has a very high strength to weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance. Aluminium guttering is lightweight, making it easier to work with on site, plus Marley Alutec’s Evolve range can be installed as easily as plastic guttering - which is a great benefit.

Highly corrosion resistant

Aluminium naturally generates a protective oxide coating. Should the surface be damaged, the aluminium guttering simply oxidises again to protect itself. Add a polyester powder coating to the aluminium guttering to provide an attractive, durable and virtually maintenance free finish. This is in contrast to steel, where galvanising only offers limited protection, cast iron, which requires regular repainting, and PVC, which can fade in colour.

Infinitely recyclable

Aluminium can be recycled again and again without loss of quality. The re-melting of aluminium requires little energy; it saves up to 95% of the energy required for primary aluminium production. Therefore aluminium guttering is a sustainable product.

Where can aluminium guttering be used and what is it suitable for?

Aluminium guttering is suited to most buildings and structures; there is a variety of designs to suit every style of building. Due to the durability and sustainability of aluminium, it is the most functional and effective material for guttering purposes, with low maintenance, cost effective and long lasting features for all types and styles of buildings.

We recommend different types of gutters depending on the size and aesthetics of the building. Our Half Round profiles are suited to small to medium properties, whilst our Box, Ogee and Deepflow profiles are better suited to medium to large properties.
